STEPS TO INSTALL COMPLETE
UNIT
- 1. Remove sod (20" diameter)
- 2. Dig a 20" diameter hole.
How deep the hole will be depends on the
length
of the receiver you are installing (receiver
is marked).
Add 4 inches to the length of the RECEIVER
you are
installing.
Examples: RECEIVER + 4 inches
~
16 inch hole for a 12 inch RECEIVER (12"
+ 4" = 16")
12 inch RECEIVER plus 4 inches equals
16 inch depth.
20 inch hole for a 16 inch RECEIVER (16"
+ 4" = 20")
16 inch RECEIVER plus 4 inches equals
20 inch depth.
If you are in an area that has poor drainage
then add
a few inches of gravel. Or you can use
all gravel in
place of dirt.
- 3. INSTALLING THE RECEIVER:
Place RECEIVER in the center of your pre-dug
hole, making
sure RECEIVER is straight up and down
(not tilted).
- 4. Place dirt OR gravel around the RECEIVER:
Lightly pack dirt or gravel (as you pack,
make sure the
RECEIVER is not tilted). If tilted, adjust
with
dirt or gravel pressure. Fill dirt up
to the bottom of the
top outer ring, keeping dirt level.
- 5. Remove the dirt / gravel that might have fallen into the
RECEIVER during installation.
Excess dirt / gravel must be removed.
- 6. Placement of CONCRETE FRAME:
Concrete frame has a placement guide to
ensure
proper centering. Place the concrete frame
over
the RECEIVER, centering guide inserts
into the
RECEIVER. IMPORTANT: Concrete frame
does
not rest on the receiver. If the frame
is resting on
the receiver, all you need to do is adjust
by slightly
moving the FRAME back and forth. You will
feel a slight
drop of the frame; it is now centered
and resting on the
dirt. After moving the FRAME and you still
feel that it is
resting on the RECEIVER, there are only
two possibilities
why this is happening:
- 1. The RECEIVER is not centered properly
(if this is the case, move some more.)
- 2. The dirt is not up the the necessary level on
the RECEIVER (if this is the case,
then remove
the frame, add some dirt, pack it,
and replace frame.)
Place dirt (and sod if necessary) back
around CONCRETE FRAME.
If the Receiving Heart you are installing
will not need to
be moved over (installed flush with the
ground) and you
would like it to stand out from the ground
a little more --
Do this:
Use the HOW TO INSTALL
directions, and where it says
to add four inches,
just add 2½" x 3".
This will allow the memorial to stand
out of the ground
a little more.
- 7. Lightly brush off all dirt and debris.
- 8. LOV NOTES IS READY TO RECEIVE!

Notes enter on either side at the point of the bronze heart.
